South Rome Alliance representatives, South Rome community leaders and residents, Rome City and Floyd County officials, and representatives from investor Goldman Sachs and developer Laurel Street will be on hand for an 11:30 a.m., groundbreaking ceremony, Friday, January 28, at 12 Pollock Street in South Rome for the new $20 million, 80-unit South Meadows affordable residential development. An informal lunch on site will follow.
South Rome Alliance, partnering with the City of Rome, has built in South Rome 38 affordable, single-family, owner-occupied homes and, working with regional developers, over 150 high-quality, mixed-income housing units at Burrell Square, McCall Place, Etowah Bend, and Etowah Terrace. South Rome Alliance, in partnership with Berry College and Rome City Schools, also funds and oversees the innovative, 3-Star Quality Rated South Rome Early Learning Center at Anna K. Davie Elementary School.
