A total of 5,969 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health, which additionally noted 105 more virus-related deaths.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 701,308 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 11,511. In Floyd County, there were 8,021 confirmed cases and 129 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 67,465, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 839.

As of the most recent report at 6 pm on Thursday evening, 591,438 vaccines had been administered across the state.
