A total of 5,685 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health, which also noted 137 more virus-related fatalities. Five of those fatalities were reported in Floyd County.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 654,356 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 10,580. In Floyd County, there were 7,591 confirmed cases and 118 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 61,310, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 780.

As of the most recent report released at 5:57 pm on Wednesday evening, some 283,177 vaccines had been administered statewide.
