Georgia’s gas prices held steady over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists now pay an average price of $2.00 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That is the same as last week, three cents less than last month, and 46 cents less than this time last year.
It now costs $30.00 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $11.10 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.
Montrae Waiters, a spokeswoman for AAA, asserts, “Georgia gas prices saw minimal or no change at the pumps across the state. Demand will continue to see some declines in the weeks ahead as drivers traditionally take fewer road trips in the fall, which indicates gas prices are likely to push cheaper through the month.”
Sunday’s national average of $2.19 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is the same as last week, one cent less than a month ago, and 45 cents less than this time last year.
