Nearly 50,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 49,847 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 4 pm on Thursday afternoon. There were 2,147 deaths related to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 292 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Fulton County reported the highest number of confirmed cases in the state at 4,724 and the most fatalities with 250.
