EARLY VOTING BEGINS TODAY IN JUNE 9TH ELECTION

Early voting begins today for the general primary and presidential preference primary election in Georgia. Floyd County voters may cast ballots in person every Monday through Friday (except for Memorial Day) from 8 am to 5 pm through June 5th and on Saturday, May 30th from 9 am until 4 pm at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive.

Measures will be taken to protect poll workers and voters from the spread of coronavirus, asserts Dr. Tom Rees, Chairman of the Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration. Hand sanitizer will be offered to voters, who are all encouraged to wear masks (but not gloves).

Only 10 people will be allowed at any time in the early voting area, adds Dr. Rees.

Dr. Rees thanks the registered voters of Floyd County for their patience amid these unprecedented times, particularly those who have opted to cast absentee ballots.
