There are over 30,000 confirmed cases and more than 1,300 have died of the coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 30,759 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 5:30 am this morning. There were 1,327 deaths due to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 152 confirmed cases and 11 fatalities. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 3,250 and the highest number of fatalities with 135.

Governor Brian Kemp is scheduled to update Georgians on COVID-19 today at the State Capitol in Atlanta. He will be joined by DPH Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey, Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency Director Homer Bryson, Georgia National Guard’s Adjutant General Tom Carden, and Augusta University President Dr. Brooks Kiel. The update at 4 pm will be live streamed on the Governor’s Facebook page.
