Severe weather swept through Northwest Georgia on Sunday evening, which resulted in downed limbs and power lines. A confirmed tornado was reported in Chattooga County.
Just under two and three-quarter inches of rain fell at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Admiral John H. Towers Field in Armuchee from just prior to 8 am on Sunday morning through right before 5 am this morning.
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning will give way to partly sunny skies as we head into this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s. There could be wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour; there is a wind advisory in effect through 10 am. A flash flood watch for this area remains in effect until 8 am.
