FLOYD COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE EARNS NATIONAL VOTER EDUCATION AWARD

Media release from Floyd County, GA:

The National Association of Elected Officials recently recognized the Floyd County Elections Office for its voter education series during its annual meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas.

“We’re really proud of the work we’ve done to educate the voters of Floyd County and appreciate this recognition from the nationally recognized Election Center,” Floyd County Elections Supervisor Akyn Beck said.

The three-part series, introduced in 2023, was designed to educate potential voters on how the process works with a focus on elections security. “Many of the participants were first-time voters,” Beck said, “and they designed the hands-on series with a new voter in mind.”

As part of the series, the elections office put together a mock voting precinct as well as classes for poll watchers and voter accessibility educational sessions.

They were also recognized by the national elections association for taking the 2023 voter education series and making improvements for its 2024 voter education series.
