Announcement from New Echota State Historic Site:
New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic Site will be hosting ‘First Saturday Hike’ on February 1st, 2025, 10am-11:30 am. Visitors will join our Ranger for the first Saturday hike of February 2025 and explore the nature trails here at New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic Site. Visitor will have the opportunity to learn about the history and nature of our beautiful site as they walk on the same grounds that the Cherokee lived on. All ages are invited to join the ranger for this event. Admission fee is required upon entry of the site: adults (18-61), $8.00, seniors (62+) $6.00, youth (6–17) $6.00. New Echota is located one mile east of Interstate 75(Exit 317) on GA HWY 225 N. near Calhoun, Georgia. Call 706.624.1321 or visit GaStateParks.org/newechota for further information.
