THE CITY OF ROME, GA LAUNCHES CITY TEXT ALERTS, FREE TEXT SERVICE ENABLES DISTRIBUTION OF URGENT AND ROUTINE COMMUNICATIONS

The City of Rome is excited to announce the launch of its new text messaging platform designed to help residents stay informed and engaged with the latest updates from the city. With this new service, residents can choose to receive alerts on a variety of topics, from city news to public safety notifications.

The following text alert options are available for residents:

  • City News
    Receive notifications on City of Rome government news & announcements.
    Sample alert: Newly renovated Banty Jones Park opens this Friday.

    Receive notifications on City of Rome government job openings.
    Sample alert: City of Rome job opening posted for Fleet Maintenance Department.

  • Upcoming Events
    Receive notifications on upcoming events in Rome and Floyd County.
    Sample alert: Roflo Fest & Backyard BBQ Bash are this weekend, plus tickets to Rome River Jam go on sale tomorrow.

    Receive public safety notifications from the Rome Police Department.

Signing up for text alerts is easy. Simply text the keyword to 38276 from your cell phone. Your cell phone may try to autocorrect your keyword into two words, but to subscribe, the keyword must be typed as one word. It is not case-sensitive. To subscribe to more than one alert, simply text each keyword in a separate message. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP.
