ROME-FLOYD RECYCLING CENTER TO HOST THE FIRST OF FOUR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS COLLECTION EVENTS ON FEBRUARY 8TH

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, 412 Lavender Drive, will hold the first of four Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Events for 2025 on Saturday, February 8th.

Emma Wells, Director of Solid Waste for Floyd County, attests that recycling events have been whittled down from six for this year. This is due in part to a decline in attendance for electronics-only events. County residents will now have the ability to dispose of both electronics and HHW any time a recycling event is held at the center.

The February 8th event is for Rome/Floyd County residents only, and will be held from 9 am until appointments are full. Appointments may be made via the Sign Up Genius link at www.floydcountyga.gov/recycling now and via phone during the first week of February at (706) 291-5266. Wells says that the appointments are required and are filling up fast.

HHW items typically collected at these events include liquids like used motor oil, paint, herbicides, and pesticides.

Electronic items typically collected include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral type equipment like printers and keyboards.

Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Events will also take place at the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center on May 10th, August 9th, and November 8th.
