The Atlanta Hawks fell to the New York Knicks 136-131 in overtime at State Farm Arena on Wednesday night. It was both teams’ last game for awhile, as the NBA has suspended this season until further notice due to concerns about the coronavirus. A player with the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.
Trae Young led all players in scoring with 41 points, to go with 11 assists, for the Hawks. John Collins had 22 points and 15 rebounds. It was undoubtedly an emotional night for Vince Carter, who may have just played his final game before retirement.
Julius Randle had a team-high 33 points and 11 rebounds for the Knicks, who took the season series between the teams 2-1.
The Hawks’ record dropped to 20-47 with Wednesday night’s loss, just ahead of the Eastern Conference-worst Cleveland Cavaliers.
