The third time will be a charm when the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels make their third-ever appearance in the Wings Over North Georgia air show, which is set for October 17th – 19th, 2025 at Rome’s Russell Regional Airport.
Members of the flight demonstration team descended upon the local airport in an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet on Thursday evening for their Winter site visit to plan for next year’s air show. They were greeted by community members and engaged in planeside interviews with the media.
LCDR Lilly Montana, Blue Angel #8/Events Coordinator, says that the Blue Angels anticipate showcasing the sheer power and capabilities of their Super Hornets, along with their C-130 nicknamed “Fat Albert”, during Wings Over North Georgia ’25.
Major Scott Laux, Blue Angel #7/Narrator, says that of all the Blue Angels’ maneuvers, the Delta Breakout is his favorite.
The Blues’ maneuvers are like those conducted by all of the Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet pilots, just faster, lower, and much closer together, states LCDR Montana.
Along with performing, the team also looks forward to interacting with fans here in Rome, Georgia and around the country during the upcoming air show season, according to Major Laux.
