ATLANTA HAWKS OPEN IN-SEASON TOURNEY WITH VICTORY OVER BOSTON CELTICS

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics by 117-116 on Tuesday night in their NBA Cup opener at Boston, MA.

Dyson Daniels scored a team-high 28 points for the Hawks, who snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 5-7 on the 2024-2025 regular season. Jalen Johnson notched a triple-double with a total of 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Jaylen Brown had a game-high 37 points for the Celtics, who saw their latest winning streak come to an end at two straight.

The Hawks will host the Washington Wizards in another NBA Cup match on Friday night. Tip off is slated for 7:30 pm at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
