AN ABUNDANCE OF SAFE AND FUN ACTIVITIES AWAIT LOCAL FAMILIES ON HALLOWEEN

An abundance of safe and fun activities await local families on Halloween in Rome and Floyd County.

Trick or Treat in Downtown Rome will take place from 3 pm until 5 pm. The businesses in the area will offer goodies to trick or treaters in costume, says Sami Spangler, Marketing Coordinator for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority. The DDA will partner with the Rome International Film Festival for a free screening of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” at the DeSoto Theatre at 5:15 pm.

RIFF will also host a 40th anniversary screening of “Gremlins” that evening. To purchase tickets and get more information, visit www.riffga.com.

Local public safety and community partners will host Treats Not Streets from 3 pm until 5:30 pm at the Law Enforcement Center, located at 5 Government Plaza in downtown Rome. Linda Patty, a Life/Fire Safety Educator with the Rome/Floyd Fire Department, says that Red from “Cars” will be there.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation invites kids in costume to Truck or Treat at Ridge Ferry Park from 3 pm until 6 pm. Admission is free.
