BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH CONTINUES, NORTHWEST GEORGIA PUBLIC HEALTH SAYS EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES

The observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues throughout October.

Dr. Gary Voccio, the Health Director for the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Northwest Health District, says that many lives have been saved as a result of regular screening for breast cancer.

Great strides have been made locally over recent years towards breast cancer awareness, attests Dr. Voccio, who adds that this is largely due to great efforts by our medical community.
