Media release from the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism:
The Georgia’s Rome Welcome Center and Gift Shop is excited to announce that tickets for the 21st Annual Empty Bowls will go on sale this Thursday, October 10. This cherished community event will take place on Tuesday, November 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Rome Civic Center.
Attendees will enjoy a delicious meal featuring a choice of soups, salad, bread, and cookies, along with a handmade bowl crafted by a talented regional potter. Generous local restaurants have joined forces to donate all the food, ensuring a delightful experience for all. Participants can choose to dine-in or conveniently pick-up their meals through the drive-thru.
Tickets are priced at $25 in advance (cash or check only) and can be purchased at the Georgia’s Rome Welcome Center and Gift Shop, located beside the Civic Center at 402 Civic Center Drive (across from Applebee’s). A limited number of tickets will be available, and the welcome center is unable to hold tickets. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All proceeds from the Empty Bowls event will benefit Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries, which provides essential food assistance to locals in need. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods for a chance to win a door prize during the event.
Founded in 2003 by the late Tesa DuPre, Empty Bowls of Rome embodies a commitment to helping others and a love for pottery. Tesa once shared that her proudest accomplishment was bringing Empty Bowls to Rome, Georgia, fostering a spirit of community and support for a worthy cause.
