ATLANTA BRAVES CONCLUDE LAST ROAD TRIP OF ’24 REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN IN MIAMI, FL OVER MARLINS

The Atlanta Braves concluded their last road trip of the 2024 regular season with a 5-4 victory over the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game National League East set in Miami, FL. The Braves took the series by 2-1 and went 4-2 on the road trip.

Ozzie Albies got the Braves on the board with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. The Marlins tied the game with a solo home run from Jonah Bride during the bottom of the second and took a 2-1 lead with a homer by Jake Burger in the fourth. Michael Harris II had an RBI triple and Matt Olson hit an RBI single to make it 3-2 in favor of the Braves during the fifth. Gio Urshela clubbed a home run in the sixth. The Marlins tied it again with a couple of home runs from Connor Norby and Jesus Sanchez to begin the bottom of that inning. The Braves again took the lead with an infield single from Jorge Soler in the top of the seventh.

Pierce Johnson was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save. Declan Cronin took the loss for Miami.

The Braves improved to 85-71 on the 2024 regular season and are still two games back from the New York Mets and the Arizona Diamondbacks in the race for the final NL Wild Card spot in the MLB postseason. They have a scheduled off-day today and will open up their last homestand of the regular season on Tuesday evening with the first of three games versus the Mets.
