ATLANTA BRAVES END HOMESTAND WITH LOSS TO CINCINNATI REDS IN MATCH DELAYED FROM JULY

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 on Monday evening in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park that was postponed due to rain in late July. Cincinnati swept that series.

Ty France scored the lone run of the night with an RBI double for the Reds in the top of the second inning.

Charlie Morton was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering that one run and six hits, walking two, and striking out seven in six and two-third innings. Nick Martinez was credited with the win and Alexis Diaz picked up the save for Cincinnati.

Thus ends a seven-game homestand which left the Braves with a total of four wins and three losses. They are 78-66 on the 2024 regular season, now eight games behind the National League East-leading Philadelphia Phillies and one game behind the New York Mets for the final NL Wild Card spot. They will begin a brief two-game road trip in Washington DC versus the Nationals this evening. First pitch is set for 6:45 pm.
