The Atlanta Braves defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-2 on Wednesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Truist Park. That allowed Atlanta to take the series.
Matt Olson got the Braves on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Jarred Kelenic also clubbed a three-run homer in that inning. The Rockies scored a pair of runs in the top of the second on an RBI triple by Sam Hilliard and an RBI double from Charlie Blackmon. Jorge Soler had an RBI single for the Braves in the sixth.
Charlie Morton picked up the win for Atlanta after surrendering two runs and five hits, walking three, and striking out eight in five innings of work. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Bradley Blaylock took the loss for Colorado.

The Braves are now 76-63 on the 2024 regular season and remain in second place of the National League East, still seven games back from the division-leading Philadelphia Phillies. They maintain a half game lead over the New York Mets for the final NL Wild Card spot. The Rockies remain in last place of the NL West at 51-89.
