The Atlanta Braves beat the Minnesota Twins 8-6 in 10 innings on Tuesday night in the second meeting of a three-game interleague set at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. That allowed Atlanta to secure a series victory.
Michael Harris II clubbed a two-run homer to get the Braves on the board in the top of the second inning. Marcell Ozuna added a two-run single in the fifth to make it 4-0 in favor of the Braves. The Twins scored three runs during the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double from Trevor Larnach, an RBI single from Matt Wallner, and an RBI double by Eduoard Julien. Larnach had an RBI single which tied the game at 4-4 in the eighth. The Braves notched four runs during the top of the 10th on a fielder’s choice by Matt Olson, an RBI single from Travis d’Arnaud, and two-run double by Ramon Laureano. The Twins scored a pair of runs in the bottom of that inning with RBI singles by Jose Miranda and Larnach. However, the Braves held on for the victory, again, by a final score of 8-6.
Atlanta starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach surrendered no runs and five hits, walked three, and struck out eight in four and two-third innings of work. Raisel Iglesias was credited with the win. Jhoan Duran was charged with the loss for Minnesota.
