The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition looks forward to teaming up with the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia for the 22nd annual Health Initiative for Men & Women, set for Saturday, August 17th from 8 am to noon at the Floyd County Health Department, 16 East 12th Street in Rome. Erin Hernandez, President and CEO of the Coalition, says that the event will feature screenings, vendors, and even refreshments.
To schedule an appointment for a mammogram at the event, call (706) 509-6840 and choose option one.
Hernandez asserts that the health screenings that will be offered at the event could potentially save lives, as early detection is key to recovery from cancer and other health concerns.
There will also be educational opportunities available to attendees of the 22nd annual Health Initiative for Men & Women, says Hernandez.
