(Media release from Atrium Health Floyd):
Area high school coaches can learn more about ensuring the health and safety of their athletes and take CPR training during a July 30 education event at Berry College’s Krannert Center, hosted by Atrium Health Floyd’s certified athletic trainers.
Participation in the CPR classes will be limited to 200 coaches. Registration is required by July 15 and can be done online at https://bit.ly/4eNQXg6.
From 9:30 to 11 a.m., coaches can enhance their knowledge of GHSA policies and procedures, emergency action plans, concussion management, first aid skills, mental health in athletics and more. A free lunch will follow.
CPR training will take place from noon to 2 p.m. While the CPR certification is free, coaches will have to pay the CPR card cost of $17 cash only the day of training. Georgia High School Association requires that all high coaches go through CPR and AED training.
