The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency continues to encourage locals to participate in its SAFE Emergency Preparedness Academy.
Tim Herrington, Floyd EMA Director, says that SAFE Academy participants have had opportunities to learn about CPR and first aid, active shooter safety, fire safety, and more.
Floyd EMA has received positive feedback about the SAFE Academy, attests Herrington, who adds that he hopes that the lessons learned in recent sessions will be put to good use in order to keep families safe.
A rare Saturday session will be held on June 22nd at noon for which the focus will be Weather Safety. To register, visit Storm Spotter | Floyd County Georgia (floydcountyga.gov)
No classes will be held in July. The SAFE Academy will resume in August with its normal Tuesday sessions. Classes will meet monthly from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Emergency Operations Center on East 12th Street in Rome.
