Rome/Floyd County joined communities across the United States of America on Monday to host Memorial Day ceremonies to honor those who gave their lives on the battlefield in service to our armed forces.
John Fortune, Past President of the Rome Exchange Club, attests that some service men and women paid the ultimate price for our freedoms, like the freedom to enjoy a holiday weekend.
The club held a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome. A special program was also held in Shannon, GA on Monday.
