The Exchange Club of Rome invites the public to a Memorial Day Ceremony set for Monday, May 27th at 10 am at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.
John Fortune, Exchangite, says that the ceremony will feature the Rome Fire Department Honor Guard, the American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard, and the guest speaker, retired Brigadier General Shawn Harris.
The goal of the event, and of Memorial Day, is to honor those who gave their lives on the battlefield in service to our country, states Fortune.
The club’s replica of the Tomb of the Unknown will also be on display at the event.
