The Atlanta Braves began a six-game road trip with a loss in Chicago, IL to the Cubs by 4-3 in 10 innings on Tuesday night.
The Braves struck first with a two-run homer by Orlando Arcia in the top of the second inning. The Cubs tied it up in the bottom of that inning as Mike Tauchman hit an RBI single and Dansby Swanson scored on a passed ball by Travis d’Arnaud. The Braves broke that tie with a home run by Michael Harris II to lead off the top of the fourth. However, the Cubs tied it again with another RBI single from Tauchman and secured the 4-3 win with a walk-off single by Nico Hoerner in the bottom of the 10th.
Aaron Bummer was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Luke Little picked up the win for Chicago.
The Braves remain in second place of the National League East with a record of 27-18, while the Cubs are 27-22 and in the second place of the NL Central. The teams will play the middle outing of their three-game set in Chicago this evening at 7:40 pm.
