Dr. Dawn Smiley-Byrd is now seeing patients at Atrium Health Floyd Endocrinology in Taylorsville.
She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Smiley-Byrd was previously a staff endocrinologist at Northside Hospital and on faculty at Emory University School of Medicine.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1995 and was her class valedictorian. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1999 and her Master of Science in Clinical Research from Emory University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 2008.

“I know my philosophy sounds very simple… ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,’” she added. “I think that’s what pushes me to give the best care I possibly can.”
Atrium Health Floyd Endocrinology in Taylorsville, 48 Hills Creek Road, is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
