The Atlanta Braves lost to the Texas Rangers by 6-4 on Sunday night in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. That denied a sweep of the weekend series for the Braves, who also saw their latest winning streak come to an end at six straight games.
Atlanta struck first with a three-run homer from Marcell Ozuna in the bottom of the first inning.
However, Texas surged ahead with four runs during the top of the fourth to include a lead off home run by Evan Carter and a three-run homer by Andrew Knizner. Adolis Garcia hit a two-run homer for the Rangers during the top of the eighth. Austin Riley hit an RBI single for the Braves in the bottom of that inning, but the Rangers held on for the win in Sunday evening’s game, again, by a final score of 6-4.
Darius Vines was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Michael Lorenzen was the winning pitcher for Texas. Kirby Yates picked up the save.
