ATLANTA BRAVES COMPLETE SWEEP OF HOUSTON ASTROS WITH WEDNESDAY WIN IN HOUSTON, TX

The Atlanta Braves beat the Houston Astros 5-4 in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set in Houston, TX. That allowed the Braves to sweep the series.

Houston struck first with a solo home run by Yordan Alvarez in the bottom of the first inning. Marcell Ozuna began the top of the second with a home run for Atlanta to tie the game at 1-1.

Ronald Acuna Jr. put the Braves ahead with a homer to lead off the top of the fifth. It was his first home run of the season.

However, the Astros surged ahead with two runs in the bottom of that inning on an RBI single from Alex Bregman and an RBI double from Kyle Tucker. Mauricio Dubon opened the bottom of the sixth with a home run which made it 4-2 in favor of Houston. Atlanta tied it in the eighth on an RBI groundout by Matt Olson and a sac fly by Orlando Arcia, then regained the lead with an RBI single from Arcia in the top of the 10th.

A double play in the bottom of the 10th secured the win for the Braves over the Astros, again, by a final score of 5-4.

AJ Minter was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Seth Martinez took the loss for Houston.

Thus ends a six-game road trip which began for the Braves in Miami, FL and resulted in a total of five wins and one loss.
