The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 9-7 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game National League East set at loanDepot Park in Miami, FL. That allowed Atlanta to take the series by two games to one.
The Braves opened the scoring when Matt Olson reached home plate on a sac fly by Adam Duvall in the top of the second. The Marlins tied it at 1-1 with a solo home run by Bryan De La Cruz in the bottom of that inning. The Braves broke that tie with two more runs in the third as Ronald Acuna Jr. scored on a throwing error and Matt Olson hit an RBI single. They increased their lead to 5-1 in the fourth with a homerun by Duvall to lead off that inning and an RBI single by Acuna. The Marlins staged a comeback with two runs in the fourth, a run in the fifth, and three runs in the sixth to include a two-run homer from Nick Gordon. Marcell Ozuna had an RBI double during the seventh and put the Braves ahead for good with a three-run homer during the ninth.
Rasiel Iglesias rendered Miami scoreless during the bottom of the ninth to pick up the save for Atlanta. AJ Minter was credited with the win in relief. Tanner Scott took the loss.
