ATLANTA BRAVES CONTINUE SPRING TRAINING, COUNTDOWN TO OPENING DAY

The Atlanta Braves picked up a couple of Spring Training wins over the weekend down in Florida. They beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-2 on Saturday in Dunedin, then emerged victorious at home by 3-2 over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday in North Port. The Braves will be in Fort Myers today to face the Minnesota Twins at 1:05 pm.

Sunday marked the last time that the Braves will face the Phillies again until Opening Day. The teams will play their regular season opener on Thursday, March 28th in Philadelphia, PA. The Braves will begin the season with three games at Philly, followed by three games up in Chicago, IL versus the White Sox.

Ben Ingram, play-by-play announcer for the Braves Radio Network, said in a recent interview on WLAQ that before he headed down to Spring Training, he was sure to pack Winter clothes for the season-opening trip to Philadelphia and Chicago. He adds that he would have preferred to open up the season in Atlanta, but he’s ready to hit the road and see the Braves win some ballgames versus the Phillies and the White Sox.

The Braves’ first home game of the regular season is slated for Friday, April 5th at Truist Park versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will have every pitch of the Atlanta Braves’ 2024 regular season from the Braves Radio Network. Tune into WLAQ for coverage of weekend Spring Training games through Sunday, March 24th.
