The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, 412 Lavender Drive, will be the site of a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event this Saturday, January 18th. It will be held from 9 am until 3 pm. Acceptable items include liquids such as used motor oils, paint, herbicides and pesticides, in addition to computers, televisions, recorders and all peripheral equipment. Appointments must be made in advance by contacting the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center at (706) 291-5266.
If you got some new electronic devices at Christmas, this event will provide a great opportunity to dispose of your old ones, indicates Michael Skeen, Floyd County Public Works Director.
The recycling event is open to Rome and Floyd County residents only. Skeen adds that electric devices such as vacuum cleaners will not be accepted.
