CRBI DIRECTOR READY TO RALLY ‘UNDER THE GOLD DOME’ AT 2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION

The 2020 session of the Georgia General Assembly began earlier this week, and Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, the Executive Director of the Coosa River Basin Initiative, looks forward to spending some time ‘under the Gold Dome’ at the State Capitol in Atlanta.

Demonbreun-Chapman states that the CRBI, in partnership with the Georgia Water Coalition, will encourage state lawmakers to support legislation aimed at cleaner water. Top priorities will include the protection of buffers intended to keep sediment and pollution from waterways, proper disposal and handling of coal ash across the state, and making sure that the money collected through environmental trust funds is used properly.

Cleaner water for Northwest Georgia is worth putting in some long hours and fostering good relations with local legislators, adds Demonbreun-Chapman.

The CRBI and the GWC invites all Northwest Georgians to participate in the 2020 Capitol Conservation Day on February 26th. For details, visit the GWC website at www.gawater.org.

Updates from the 2020 legislative session will be posted on the CRBI’s social media, attests Demonbreun-Chapman. Follow the organization on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
