The American Legion Post 5 invites the public to their Veterans Day Program scheduled for this Saturday, November 11th at 11 am at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. This program will be held by the Tomb of the Known Soldier Charles Graves (a local soldier who was killed in World War 1).
The main speaker for 2023 will be Chaplain David Thornton from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. Bill King, Exchange Club of Rome, will present his model of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Taps and a 21-gun salute will be performed by the Post 5 Honor Guard.
Cave Spring will also host a Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday at 11 am at the city’s Veteran’s Memorial Square. The program is open to the public.
