KEEP ROME-FLOYD BEAUTIFUL, FLOYD COUNTY 4-H URGE LOCAL STUDENTS TO TURN USED CANDY WRAPPERS INTO ARTWORK VIA THE CANDY WRAPPER CHALLENGE

Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful and Floyd County 4-H want to encourage local students to refrain from throwing away their candy wrappers this Halloween. Instead, get creative and participate in the Candy Wrapper Challenge!

Kids willing to accept the challenge are tasked with filling out templates that feature wildlife native to Georgia (a lake sturgeon, a green tree frog, or a woodpecker) with colorful candy wrappers. These templates are available on KRFB’s Facebook page, as well as at the KRFB office inside the Rome-Floyd ECO Center at Ridge Ferry Park and at the Floyd County Extension Office at the Administration Building in downtown Rome. Entries into the Challenge are due by November 6th at the Extension Office, says Hannah Bagley, KRFB Director.

There are three division entries for grades K-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Prizes will be awarded for the best creations, attests Bagley.

Families with questions about the Candy Wrapper Challenge should contact the Floyd County Extension Office at (706) 295-6210 or Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful at (706) 236-4456.
