ATLANTA BRAVES COMPLETE SWEEP OF CHICAGO CUBS IN THURSDAY NIGHT OUTING AT TRUIST PARK, REGULAR SEASON TO CONCLUDE WITH SET VERSUS WASHINGTON NATIONALS OVER THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-3 on Thursday night in the last meeting of a three-game set at Truist Park. The victory allowed Atlanta to sweep that series and clinch home-field advantage through the 2023 MLB postseason.

Highlights included a two-run homer by Matt Olson in the bottom of the first, his MLB-leading 54th home run of the season. He now possesses the Braves’ franchise record for most RBIs in a single season with 136.

The National League East-champion Braves are now 103-56. They will wrap up the regular season on their home field at Truist Park with a three-game set against the Washington Nationals this weekend. First pitch of tonight’s series opener is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The game will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Tune into WLAQ for the play-by-play story in the rest of that weekend series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
