The National League defeated the American League 3-2 in the 2023 MLB All Star Game on Tuesday night out in Seattle, Washington. It marked the first time that the NL has won the Midsummer Classic since 2012. Elias Diaz of the Colorado Rockies was named MVP for (what turned out to be) the game-winning two-run homer in the eighth.
The Atlanta Braves were represented this year by a franchise-record eight All Stars on the NL roster. Those included starters Sean Murphy, Orlando Arcia, and Ronald Acuna Jr. and the reserves Matt Olson, Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley. Spencer Strider and Bryce Elder were selected to participate in the Midsummer Classic, but did not pitch.
Upon the conclusion of the All-Star break, the Braves will return to action on Friday night at Truist Park in Atlanta against the Chicago White Sox. Tune in for coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM.
