As the curtain rises on the 2022-23 school year, Floyd County Sheriff Dave Roberson urges students, teachers, and administrators – if you see something suspicious at any time, say something.
A potential tragedy may be avoided upon report of suspicious activity. Doing
the right thing might be scary, but it could save a life, says Sheriff Roberson.
This charge from Roberson follows the discovery (on separate occasions) of two students with guns at Rome High School last week. The Sheriff asserts that school officials and local law enforcement place high priority on school safety, and they are open to feedback from the public.
Roberson is scheduled to address the topic of school safety with local student leaders this Thursday.
