ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN SERIES IN COLORADO WITH WIN OVER ROCKIES

The Atlanta Braves beat the Colorado Rockies by 6-3 on Monday night in the opener of a three-game set at Coors Field in Denver, CO.

The Rockies took an early lead with a three-run homer by Hunter Goodman in the bottom of the first inning. The Braves scored two runs in the top of the third on an RBI single from Alex Verdugo and sac fly by Marcell Ozuna, then tied the game at 3-3 on an RBI single from Nick Allen in the fourth. Michael Harris II put Atlanta ahead with two-run double in the fifth. Sean Murphy made it 6-3 in favor of the Braves with an RBI single during the top of the seventh.

Bryce Elder was credited with the win for Atlanta after giving up three runs and five hits, walking two, and striking out four through six innings of work. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Ryan Feltner took the loss for Colorado.
