Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that it is planning to offer Special Olympics Golf as a new sport for special needs athletes. They are hoping to start in June and will have practice and training once a week during the summer. There will be several different levels to participate including: Individual Skills and Unified Sports Team Play.
Anyone 8 and over who has an intellectual or developmental disability may participate in Special Olympics. If you would like to participate or get more information, please email [email protected]
Also, Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is looking for volunteers and coaches to help with the program and looking for golf equipment. Donations of the following are needed: Putters, drivers, wedges, balls, tees and spot markers.
