The Atlanta Braves lost to the Toronto Blue Jays by a final score of 6-3 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set in Toronto, Canada. That evened the series at 1-1.
The Braves struck first with a solo home run by Austin Riley in the top of the first inning.
However, the Blue Jays tied it up at 1-1 with a fielder’s choice by Vladimir Guerrero Jr in the bottom of the third. They took the lead with five runs in the fifth to include a two-run homer from Alan Roden and a three-run shot from Anthony Santander.
Matt Olson clubbed a solo home run for the Braves in the sixth. Ozzie Albies homered to begin the ninth.
Spencer Schwellenbach was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up six runs and six hits, walking two, and striking out three in four and two-third innings. Kevin Gausman was credited with the win for Toronto.
The Braves will finish their current six-game road trip with the series finale at Toronto versus the Blue Jays this afternoon at 1:07 pm. Spencer Strider is set to make his season debut.
