EARLY VOTING OFFERED THIS WEEK IN APRIL 15TH RUNOFF

Early voting in the April 15th runoff to fill a vacancy on Post 4 of the Floyd County Commission will be offered daily through this Friday, April 11th from 8 am until 5 pm at the Floyd County Elections Office, 18 East 12th Street in Rome. Polls countywide will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, April 15th from 7 am until 7 pm.

The run-off is between David Thornton and Chip Hood. They were the top two vote recipients among five candidates in the Special Election held March 18th. The winner of the runoff will proceed to complete the unexpired term of Larry Maxey, who passed away last November.

This runoff is being held because no candidate received 50% plus one of the votes in the Special Election.
