ATTENTION, SPRING CLEANERS! NEXT HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS COLLECTION EVENT SLATED FOR MAY 10TH AT ROME-FLOYD RECYCLING CENTER

Attention, Spring cleaners! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 10th! It’s the date of the next Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Event to be hosted by the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, located at 412 Lavender Drive.

Emma Wells, Director of Solid Waste for Floyd County, says that the public was very responsive to the first of four HHW and electronics events for this year held in February. Appointments for May’s event may be made starting April 10th via the Sign Up Genius link at www.floydcountyga.gov/recycling and via phone at (706) 291-5266 starting May 1st.

This free service is provided only to residents of Floyd County, states Wells, who adds that the objective is to keep recyclables out of the landfill.

HHW items typically collected at these events include liquids like used motor oil, paint, herbicides, and pesticides.

Electronic items typically collected include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral type equipment like printers and keyboards.

Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Events will also take place at the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center on August 9th and November 8th.
