Media release from Northwest Georgia Charter Academy:
The beloved Pinto Bean Luncheon has a new name and a new time, but its rich tradition remains the same! Now called the Pinto Bean Education Celebration, the event has been moved from lunchtime to the evening to ensure that more families, students, and working community members can take part in this annual gathering.
This year’s Pinto Bean Education Celebration will continue its mission of honoring the continued tradition of community. As the Northwest Georgia Charter Academy continues to work to bring a free public education option to the area. They are inviting you to come meet their Governing Board members, ask questions, meet their future school leader and look over their State petition that was submitted March 14,2025.
“The change from a luncheon to an evening celebration allows more of our community to participate and keep this cherished tradition alive,” said [Cassie Potts, Governing Board Secretary]. “We’re excited to continue sharing the history and importance of education where it all began, while making the event more accessible for families and students.”
