IT’S ELECTION DAY IN FLOYD COUNTY, GA

It’s Election Day in Floyd County, GA. The Special Election will determine who will fill a vacancy on Post 4 of the Floyd County Commission. Polls county-wide are open from 7 am to 7 pm to accommodate those who did not vote early.

Candidates include Shonna Bailey, Chip Hood, Tonya Eden Shepard, David Thornton, and Corey Townsend.

Akyn Beck, Elections Supervisor, attests that local elections are important so registered voters should get out and exercise their right to vote.

Just over 2,000 votes were cast during the three-week early voting period in this election, according to Beck.
