Do you struggle with allergies every Spring? Many trees and plants around Northwest Georgia have started to bloom and emit allergy-triggering pollen. Dr. Gary Voccio, health director of the Georgia Department of Public Health’s 10-county Northwest Health District, muses that pollen is fascinating to view under a microscope, but these little particles pack a powerful punch to people who suffer from allergies.
Avoiding pollen is impossible so it may be best to remain well-stocked with over-the-counter allergy medications, according to Dr. Voccio, who adds that allergists are very busy at this time of year. He suggests that allergy-sufferers discuss best possible medications with a health care provider.
