BE WEATHER AWARE WITH HELP FROM THE FLOYD EMA MOBILE APP

Forecasters are warning the public to be weather aware this weekend. Severe weather is possible in north and central Georgia between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday, according to a statement by the National Weather Service, which warns that weather hazards might include tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail. Flooding concerns may also develop here in the northwest part of the state.

Severe weather preparedness? The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency has an app for that! Tim Herrington, Floyd EMA Director, urges all county residents to download the free Floyd EMA mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play for a wealth of information, from preparedness tips to weather alerts.

Social media is also an outlet for updates. Herrington directs locals to the Floyd County Emergency Management page on Facebook to obtain weather updates. Any road closures will be posted on the Floyd County E-911 GA page.
