ROME HIGH SCHOOL SHOW CHOIR WINS DIVISION AT MUSIC CITY INVITATIONAL

Media release from the Rome, GA City Schools:

For the second straight competition, Grand Finale, Rome High School’s Show Choir, wowed the audience and the judges with their performance of their competition show “Whodunit”. The group took first place in their division and placed third overall at the Music City Show Choir Invitational in Nashville this past weekend.

Grand Finale took first place in the small mixed division with Vander Jones grabbing honors for best male soloist in a show. The crew also placed third overall in the competition. This marks the second division win for the show choir this season as they prepare to hit the road in two weeks to compete at the Peach State Invitational in Tift County.

Grand Illusion, Rome Middle School’s show choir, won their division in the event as well.

“I am really proud of our students in Grand Finale for their performance this week. I think it is the best performance that they have had since I’ve been the director here. This is only the second time that Grand Finale has won twice in the same season, so this group has already made history, and I hope they will continue to perform at a high level,” Grand Finale Director Cody Goss said.

Goss noted that he and the students made an important decision about their next competition.

“The students and I made the decision to enter the championship bracket at Tifton, so we will be competing against some of the larger schools, but we want to challenge ourselves to see if we can win a Grand Championship this year,” he said.
